For God so loved the Cougars...
Previously published in the Davis County Clipper on Nov 29Okay, so I was happy to see BYU win the Mountain West Conference. I'm not big on the BYU/Utah rivalry myself, being a Utah State Aggie (2-10, baby!). However, BYU holds a soft spot in my heart; my grandparents used to take me to games when I was a kid. I got to watch Ty Detmer make history, while chowing down on snacks on my hard metal seat. Good times.
Anyway, I would be more of a Y fan if it wasn't for the pompous self-righteousness of most of their fans. So Austin Collie's well-intentioned but stupidly-worded comments didn't help. I'll be surprised if he's allowed to speak to the press next year...

I didn't even know this was happening. Ah, the joys of not being a sports fan of any stripe!
As of right now, 363 comments have been posted, I'm neither reading them nor posting, as my thoughts on Utah County in general are not too constructive, and I don't need any more reinforcement; I'm trying to take a "Thumper" position on posting my thoughts these days (probably why my blog has been so inactive).
Anyway, it's football, hardly a saving ordinance.
